Protocatechuic acid (PCA), CAS 99-50-3, is a metabolite of complex polyphenols, such as anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins, which are found in high concentrations in many plants and fruits and are easily consumed by animals and Human absorption. It is White Crystalline Powder, and easy to change color in the air. It is slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water, ethanol and ether, but insoluble in benzene.
Protocatechuic is a naturally occurring polyphenol in vegetables, fruits and herbs.
