Betulinic Acid Powder (BA) is a white crystalline powder with a slight smell and a bitter taste, which is a naturally occurring pentacyclic triterpene. It was first found in the bark of evergreen plants of the Rhamnaceae family in East Africa. Now it can be obtained from It is extracted from leaves of cattail, the bark of Betula platyphylla and the fruit of wild jujube and so on, but the main source is extracted from birch bark.
