1. Product Description
Costus Root Extract can be used to relieve pain by promoting the flow of qi, and to improve digestion by reinforcing the spleen function. It helps relieve epigastric distension. It is also used to treat the abdominal pain, diarrhea, and tenesmus by nourishing the spleen and removing stasis in stomach and intestines. It is cylindrical or flat cylindrical, slightly curved, 3-15cm long and 0.5-1.5cm in diameter. The surface is yellow-brown or gray-brown, rough and uneven, with longitudinal wrinkles and fibrous root marks. Brittle, easy to break, uneven section, light yellow bark, broad wood, white rays, radial arrangement, obvious cambium ring, yellow-brown. Unique aroma, bitter taste.

Delactone volatile oil, dihydroxylactone and total lactone can significantly inhibit the movement of body and small intestine, reduce their tonicity and rhythmic contraction, and other lactones have less effect.
