Aloe vera is native to the Mediterranean and Africa, now it is almost everywhere in the world. There are many varieties , the most commonly used is Aloe barbadensis Miller, it and its products have been widely used in food, beauty, health care, medicine and other fields. Aloe Aloin (the sum of aloin A and aloin B) is an effective ingredient extracted from Aloe barbadensis Miller, also called Barbaloin. it is natural anthracycline, which is a tyrosinase inhibitor, and easily soluble in water and pyridine, soluble in glacial acetic acid, formic acid, acetone, methyl acetate and ethanol. It has the functions of sterilization, anti-inflammatory and detoxification, promoting wound healing, etc.

At present, there are more than 100 kinds of pharmacological and biologically active ingredients in aloe vera. As per its particularity and efficacy, it is mainly divided into two categories.

1) Anthraquinone Compounds

It mainly includes dozens of aloe vera, aloe emodin, aloe chrysophanol, aloe saponins , aloemycin and so on. It is the active ingredient in aloe and mainly exists in the outer skin of aloe leaves.

2) Aloe Polysaccharide

It is mainly found in the gel of aloe vera leaves, and has been detected ethoxylated glucan, glucomannan, arabino-galactan, etc. Its molecular structure, composition and relative molecular weight are related to the variety, growth environment and growth period of aloe.
